Andrew Lentz

I was a ride along guest of Officer Lentz through the GB Citizens Police Academy. He made me feel so at ease that the shift just flew by. He answered all my questions and kept an informative and genuine conversation going all night. He didnt make me feel that I was a burden to be tagging along. From what I gather from a few other officers Drew has taken more than his share of "ride alongs". I think he should be commended for desire to make sure so many citizens of Green Bay have such a great experience.

Officers Dan Younk & Brad Strouf

I have been working with the Green Bay Police Department for many years and have had a lot of great experiences with the Department. However, when I worked a Child Protective case and needed assistance with checking the welfare of a child, Officer Younk and Officer Strouf did an EXCELLENT job in responding to the call and assisting me in working with the family. Unfortunately, I needed to leave the residence but the mother needed to go to an area service provider the same day per my request. After saying she didnt have a ride, Officer Younk offered to drive her there himself so she could complete the request from CPS and resolve the situation immediately. Officer Strouf offered to watch her children during her absence. I dont EVER RECALL having two officers offer to watch children and transport our "alleged maltreater" to a service provider without CPS asking for that help. I did not give Officer Younk an indication that I wanted him to do this, he problem solved this with his partner, Officer Strouf. I was completely impressed by their willingness to help CPS and more so, help our community member getting transported and her children babysat during her absence. Thank You so much and I cannot wait to work with you again! Excellent, Excellent Job!!

Rob Ecke

I was in the GB Police Department with my daughter to report something. Officer Ecke was the one taking her report. He was so kind, caring and supportive of her and myself and my other daughter. He explained everything about the process. Showed genuine concern for the compaint and was very courtous and knowledgeable about his job . Many thanks to ALL of you who protect us. God Bless you all

Luke Lansbach

An officer was called to St. Marys on Sat., October 22nd. Officer Luke Lansbach responded. It was dealing with our son. Officer Lansbach was so understanding of the situation, and able to communicate so effectively with our son, my husband , and myself. He was also able to make arrangements for our son that benefited both him and us. It was a very stressful situation, and thanks to Officer Lansbach, I left feeling a little better, and very thankful that he had been there. What he did for us was very much appreciated. Mike Reignier

I would like to nominate Mike Reignier for making us feel welcome and for his customer service at the Packer games. I had my 82 year old mother Delores with us this past Sunday Oct. 16 when there was enhanced security entering the stadium. Mike made everyone feel comfortable during the screening and my mother even made the comment "that he was one of the nicest police officers she has encountered." For my mother to make that comment it made a WOW impression on me. Mike was direct with his directions as to what the procedure was entering the stadium. Great Customer Service.

Kelly Molitor

Recently our neighborhood formed a neighborhood association called Northwest Railway Garden (formed 5/26/2011), and I had asked for Kelly to be a guest speaker at our August 11th, 2011, she agreed. At our neighborhood board meeting she spent half an hour addressing and sharing information with 27 attendees from our meeting. Based on the feedback she had gotten, she immediately acted upon our neighborhood issues of speeding down streets and garbage dumping in a particular area. The next day she had contacted correct authorities to have the area monitored. Then she put in a request to monitor traffic violators of speeding with "portable your speed monitors." Lastly, Kelly also provided our association with slow down signs for children, sponsored by AAA insurance approximately a week from our August 11th, 2011 meeting. Kelly's ability to follow through with our neighborhood concerns in such a timely manner was impressive to all neighbors residing within our area and I think she should be recognized for her efforts, it was truly appreciated.

Officer Kevin Bahl

Officer Bahl has been wonderful working on my case. My wallet was stolen and quite a bit of money was spent on my work credit card. In the larger city I used to live in, a case like this would just be ignored with no time spent on it. Officer Bahl was very patient with my case and did a great job working through the details. He was able to find out who committed the crime and has a warrant out for their arrest. I really appreciate his hard work.

M. Meves

This officer responded to an accident I was involved in. She was kind, courteous and professional. I was very impressed with her restraint and patience in dealing with the young man involved who had made several bad decisions. She processed my information in a timely manner in an effort to get me on my way, all the while reassuring me and thoroughly explaining what actions she would take to help me and what I needed to do as well. I feel she went above and beyond when she gathered more information and called me later that night to tell me she knew what I was going through and updated me with some very positive information that made the situation much more tolerable! The fact that she took the time yet that same night to call me knowing it would ease my mind really impressed me.

Tom Herber

I would like to nominate Officer Tom Herber for not only his immediate response to an incident that occurred at my place of work in which I had to contact the GBPD to file a report, but for the kindness and professionalism that he showed me when he arrived. Officer Herber went above and beyond and was very informative through the entire ordeal. He is whats good about Americas police force.

Schupbach, Valerie

I was at The Little Store at 2030 University Ave on 03SEP2011 at or about 0800 hrs, although I do not know the exact details about the contact, I did hear some kind words referenced to the male subject she and another Officer were interacting with. Officer Schupbach, during her contact, demonstrated exemplary, professional and compassionate conduct. In this day and age, this is quite the example of how an Officer should conduct themselves! Mike Reignier

Officer Reignier stopped by on 8/25/11 to follow up regarding an email to the mayors office about speeding in the Red Smith district. He outlined the steps he would take to enforce traffic rules during the start of the school year. This was in response to requests regarding excessive speeds. Further, he provided reasonable points on how to be in contact with him regarding future activity issues. I am nominating him for his interaction, and actual plan he had in place for making our streets safer.

Paul VanHandel / Brian Schlit

Both Officers VanHandel and Schilt worked to make sure our neighborhood was safe and didnt stop until they were able to take care of a house that has been a problem for a long time in our neighborhood. They continued getting information and working until they could take the appropriate actions. They made sure we were informed as to what was happening and didnt forget about our complaints. Officers Matt Secor, Lauren Selleck and Max Waln

I live on the near west side of Green Bay in a neighborhood that, at times, struggles. One of those times occurred last week. Officers Matt Secor, Lauren Selleck and Max Waln responded to a disturbance which, by any account, would be (and should have been!) classified as minor and routine. What wasn't routine, in my estimation, was the manner in which the civilians involved in the incident reacted to these officers: insolently, belligerently and disrespectfully. It had all the powder-keg elements to escalate into an ugly situation save one: an incendiary response by the officers. Through the entire incident, the officers handled themselves calmly and professionally and with heaven-sent patience, showing respect where none was given. Law enforcement can be a thankless job but in this case I'd like to thank Officers Matt Secor, Lauren Selleck and Max Waln for their exemplary work. Thank you for a job well done!!

Jim Veeser

Officer Veeser went above and beyond by responding to a call. He came to my office when he was off duty due to the importance of the call. When I called again regarding more information to the situation he returned the call ASAP and treated me with respect and dignity. He took the time to listen and file the incident report although we did not have the suspect located. He has been following up with me as more information has been revealed. Officer Veesers is making a direct impact in the Broadway District and I appreciate the wonderful work he is doing!

Officer Craig Carlson

I am social worker with Brown County Human Services. I have a client who was taken advantage of and swindled out of $730 by a con artist in our community. This situation left my client in a terrible financial and emotional state. He ended up making an unsuccessful lethal suicide attempt. This client has several disabilities and has a very low income. Although I planned to accompany my client to fill out a police report he chose to do it on his own. My client was lucky enough to be assigned to Officer Carlson. Officer Carlson took the time with my client to search for this offender, eventually found him, confronted him and demanded he pay my client back. Within a few days my client received every penny back. Now I know Officer Carlson went way beyond the expectation. He spent a great deal of time with him and helped restore his faith in humanity. Honestly he has a new lease on life which is entirely due to Officer Carlsons compassion and commitment to helping the disadvantaged. I have always respected the work the Green Bay Police Dept are involved in, but Officer Carlsons choices regarding this client have taken my respect to a new level.

Lt. Bill Bongle

I am very happy to have had the opportunity to meet Lt. Bill Bongle on June 28th, 2011. At all time I have found him to be dependable, reliable, hardworking, conscientious, honest, peace loving, and courteous. Not only did his words encouraged and enabled me to get involved, but also it gave me the ability to focus to neighborhood to find out what people think are the leading crime causes. Lt. Bill demonstrated honesty, frankness, and openness. He also demonstrated a giving and generous nature of his free time. He is a personable leader and it had been of great pleasure to spend sometime with him.

Valerie Schupbach

Officer Schupbach came to assist us in a burglary matter and was extremely helpful! She responded quickly and she spoke to our residents (transitional apartment program) in a way that was helpful and beneficial, not at all condescending or annoyed. She offered to come out and personally handle other instances and gave us her card. Very helpful and so great with our residents!

Lt. Rick Dekker, Officer Joe Merrill and Officer Dave Steffens

I'd like to nominate the police officers who responded to an auto/motorcycle accident last week on Nicolet Drive. They include Officers Joe Merrill, Dave Steffens and others whose names I don't know. Green Bay Police officers helped my daughter, my husband and I come to terms with the terrible accident that happened in a blink of an eye that evening. The officer's professional competence and personal thoughtfulness helped us through that night and the days to come. After the accident, Lt. Rick Dekker went above and beyond our expectations in being available with updates, despite being out of the office for over a week. I want to also mention that the GB Police records department's capable employees have been patient and helpful with my calls. I know there are more employees behind the scenes who support the officers. These men and women are a wonderful reflection of the City of Green Bay's Police Department and the Green Bay community. THANK-YOU ALL!

Dave Steffens

Officer Steffens responded to a call at 410 S Madison on June 28, 2011 at around 10:24 P.M. The complainant stated that she is in a very stressful situation with her landlord and that Officer Steffens was "absolutely amazing" in the way he handled the situation.
